Kids ages 0-12 are encouraged to enter.  Parents  and grandparents are encouraged to run/walk with their child(ren) entered in the race ( at no additional charge).  Strollers are welcome and asked to begin behind the run/walk participants.  Our goal is to create a family fun event in which everyone wins  and  participation is the reward!  The more kilometers we total the more we raise for a great charity Children at Risk.

How to enter:

Click on the registration & tickets and follow the link to the running room registration site or just click here http://www.events.runningroom.com/site/?raceId=5811  You may enter for the 1k ,5k, 10k , indoor events only , Tshirt only , register as a volunteer, download a sponsor form for the race ( an additional challenge as a way to ask those in your community to sponsor you or a team during the event, but not necessary as your entry fee covers a donation) and order lunch tickets at this site.  You can do this all on line!  If you have any questions feel free to contact us at info@revivelifeclinic.com .  For  the  Kids Booster Pack!  you may download your 10k fitness log blast-off-10-week-10k-fitness-log-2009-vertical-3-5091-pdf

This fitnesss log is to chart your child’s progress in his/her 10K.  Your child can begin their 10K fitness challenge over 10 weeks.  Simply print off and post in a visible area of your home and enter each time your child is physically active ( ie running, skipping, baseball, basketball, soccer, dance , hockey etc….) for 1/2 hour.  Each 1/2 hour equals 1K.  Do a minimum of 9K before Blast Off Day Saturday October , 2010 and do the last 1K with us!  You can begin as early as you like or join in the 10 week countdown starting Saturday July 27, 2010.

The total Kilometers achieved by all will help us raise more funds!

ps Don’t forget to bring the total number of Kilometers your child did to Blast Off Event for our totals!

 

This is a great way to teach your child goal setting and continued fitness for long term health!

Arrival and Instructions:
Participants should arrive at the event at least 1/2 hour before race start. There will be a brief instruction session before the race. Parents should attend this session.  For those who are late registrants or have not picked up your race kits it is recommended to arrive at least 1 hour before race start.  You may then go to the indoor events shows to continue adding stamps /kilometers to your passports to gain more prizes… Enjoy!

Participant Kits
Participants may pick up their race kits at the advertised Race Kit Pick Up locations and times. Each participant receives a kit, containing a number bib, pins, and any goodies donated by sponsors. Picking the kit up before race day is a good idea, as race morning can be very hectic.

Age Categories & Results:

We do not offer competitive age categories or category awards in Blast Off as  All participants are winners!

Awards & Prizes 
 All participants are eligible for draw prizes  at the indoor events- if you stick around.

Refreshments
Each participant receives light refreshments after the race.

* Online registration closes on Sept. 18 at 7:00 am. Late fees apply from Sept 17 until Race Day Sept 19.

The entry fee is $20 for the 1k or 10k ( after September 16 late registration is 25, which must be paid in cash if the entry is submitted at Race Kit Pick Up). If there are no T shirts remaining ( as they are limited) late entries can participate at the rate of $20 but will not receive a souvenir Tshirt , but are eligible for indoor prizes. 

The Race Rules

  1. Participants must follow the courses.
  2. Participants and parents must be courteous of others.
  3. Parents may provide assistance, or run along with the kids, but they must not improve the participant’s placing in the event.
  4. Participants must complete the course on their own.
  5. All strollers must start behind the general race participants.
  6. Ipods, MP3 Players or Headphones are not permitted.
  7. Most importantly have fun!
